Stringjoy back at James' Home of Tone!
I'm excited to announce the return of Stringjoy strings to the Home of Tone! I first stocked stringjoy back in 2017, then simply due to a transitional change in distribution and other commitments wasn't able to re-stock. But I'm very pleased to see these back on my shelves thanks to their new UK distributor whom has always been supportive of the Home of Tone which is great!
James' Home of Tone, now a dealer for Trent Guitars!
I'm very pleased to announce that I am now a dealer for Trent Guitars! Made near the south coast of the UK, 2021 founded Trent Guitars lead by owner and maker Elliott Trent has quickly gained a great following due to the design, quality and eco friendly unique approach to guitar making. Elloitt's workworking comes from experience in cabinet and furniture making, running his own business in the field for a decade prior to Trent Guitars.

Really enjoyed watching/listening to this great podcast featuring two skilled pickup makers, particularly great to see Tim featured and hearing a lot about his processes and background. Been proudly stocking McNelly Pickups here since 2015, one of the finest makers around!
Introducing the latest pedal from ThorpyFX, The Boneyard!
EDIT - 02/03/2022 - NOW SOLD OUT here at James' Home of Tone! Thanks for your support with this pedal through my humble shop!
Brand new, in limited release, from ThorpyFX, THE BONEYARD!
To cut a long story short, this is Adrian Thorpe's interpretation of what the ultimate TonebenderTM should sound like. He wanted one pedal to be able to cover off all the Tone- benderTM variants in one small pedalboard friendly footprint. The Boneyard is designed to provide you with a supremely versatile foot switchable vintage germanium fuzz pedal that evokes the sounds of everything from 1960s forward... a true chameleon of a fuzz pedal.
It's a culmination of many years playing, testing and adjusting all of the various TonebenderTM variants. The aim of the pedal is to allow customers to choose their own tonal palette, in essence their own flavour of TonebenderTM. This new version expands on that legacy to deliver more volume, lower noise, more flexibility all in a much smaller pedalboard friendly footprint.
The Rock Slide, now in stock!
I'm proud to welcome a new brand to the Home of Tone family, The Rock Slide! For long time followers of the Home of Tone, you'll know that high quality guitar slides have always been a big thing here. Offering the best glass slides in the world since 2015, with Diamond Bottlenecks! I have wanted to stock Rock Slides for a while as their attention to detail and quality of finish with their brass slides is superb. From a tapered internal diameter, notch cut and finger rest to the cool polished and 'swamp slide' finishes, these are great, weighty brass slides and compliment the best glass slides I already stock with DB!
There are a few variants still on back order, but for now I have a neat selection, including the Joey Landreth signature slide too and you can visit the collection by clicking HERE

John Cordy takes the SX 'SST62+' for a spin!
I sent my demo model SX Guitars 'SST62+' down to John Cordy for a couple of video clips and he kindly took the time to make his own video for his channel. Really appreciate his honest thoughts, beautiful playing and time to do this!
James Thain Music - SX SST62+ demo and review video!
James is a player I greatly admire, and an all round good human which I've been grateful to get to know over my time of running the Home of Tone. I approached him about whether he'd be interested in filming some stuff with the new SX Guitars 'SST62+' models that I have recently begun representing and here we are! He has kindly taken the time to film this review and demo video of his own work, alongside some clips for me in an upcoming video I'm putting together which is great! Appreciate his work and honesty here in the video, hope you do too!
International postage/shipping options - tracked services only going forward
Hi all! Just wanted to share a quick update for my international customers, that I have taken the decision to remove all Royal Mail International Standard service options from the...
Tom DeLonge Style Stratocaster, Starcaster and ES-333 pre-wired volume wiring now available!
This kit is as simple as they can come, but it is a tip of the 'Atticus angled cap' to one of my most favourite signature Fender guitar models and is incredibly nostalgic for me, the Tom DeLonge Signature Stratocaster! I spent countless hours staring at the Fender Frontline catalog back in the day wishing I had one of these guitars, super back to basics design but nonetheless wicked guitars. With the originals increasing in value, I know a lot of us are making partscaster replicas instead, so I wanted to offer a pre-wired volume pot kit to help with those projects! After having the privilege of working and inspecting an all original 2001 TD Strat thanks to one of my great customers, I was able to have a quick peek under the hood of an early example.
Inspection & Set-Up options when purchasing a SX Guitars 'SST62+' guitar from James' Home of Tone
I have zero intention to just be a 'box shifting' supplier. Guitars of this price point are usually just shipped out upon order, but here at James' Home of Tone, regardless of price point, each and every guitar sold is inspected by me personally. At the end of the day, SX quality control is of a good standard, but it would have traveled by container, stored in a warehouse then shipped to me since that point of final inspection at the factory. So I take each out of the packaging and provide a full inspection, ensuring this guitar will play nicely out of the box for you.
