Rush Amps - Original Rush PEPBOX
I would like to introduce you to the only authentic and authorised legendary RUSH PEPBOX®!
One of the first wave of guitar effects pedals with the new “Fuzz” sound, designed and built in London in 1965 by the creator Pepe Rush, The RUSH PEPBOX ® was used by a number of leading groups in the 60’s including The Beatles (who used one at Abbey Road during the recording of Revolver) The Shadows, The Animals and others.
An iconic and historic pedal that I am now incredibly proud to stock here at James' Home of Tone.

Built on a copy of the original printed circuit board using germanium transistors, (some of which are over 40 years old!) to capture the unique original sound. The recreation builds are housed in a faithful replica of the original wedge-shaped welded steel enclosure with hands engraved panels which are engraved using the original rotary engraving machine that was used on the original RUSH PEPBOX® in 1965. The more modern day pedalboard friendly enclosure version, the PEPBOX 2.0 has been faithful to the overall aesthetic of the original too. Using a 9v battery, we have gone to extraordinary lengths to ensure that this reissue is as close to the originals as possible. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Unfortunately, Pepe Rush passed away in late 2018 but his daughter, Lucy, is carrying on building them. Lucy had been working with her father for a number of years and wanted to carry on with the work they did together to keep his legacy alive. An honour to have these really cool recreations, made by the same family as the original, here in stock at the Home of Tone and would like to thank Lucy for having me on board to represent her great work.
