Solderless Series Pre-Wired Harnesses
There may be a number of reasons why you're here considering a Solderless Pre-Wired harness for your guitar, and you may also be wondering what a 'solderless' harness could possibly be too! So hopefully this info can help.
Although called solderless harnesses, there is of course still solder used to make them! But the name mainly derives from the fact that upon install into the guitar, you won't need to touch the soldering iron and solder any pickup or ground connections to get it all working, cool eh!
If you're not particularly comfortable with soldering, or perhaps don't have the confidence in doing it on your guitar and would prefer for there to be a way to upgrade the wiring on your guitar without having to do it. Then the Solderless harness kits may well be for you! You simply attach your pickup and ground wires to the neat little terminal blocks, and you're good to go!
This also benefits those that enjoy regularly swapping pickups for example, making the process that little bit easier by removing the need to solder anything.
I still use the best quality components as per my Signature Series soldered harnesses, such as CTS 450 series pots, CRL & Switchcraft switches, Pure Tone multi contact jack sockets, Gavitt USA wire and Mustard capacitors, but these also see the neat little RS PRO connectors too. I have tested a few over the past year and I found these to be reliable, compact and simple to use, so I'm happy to use them on my pre-wired harnesses.
