Stringjoy - Signatures - Nickel Wound Electric Guitar Strings - Heavy Bottom Light Gauge 10-52
I'm excited to announce the return of Stringjoy strings to the Home of Tone! I first stocked stringjoy back in 2017, then simply due to a transitional change in distribution and other commitments wasn't able to re-stock. But I'm very pleased to see these back on my shelves thanks to their new UK distributor whom has always been supportive of the Home of Tone which is great!
Stringjoy are a Nashville based string company and manufacturer established in 2014. They've since gained a huge following for both their quality of product and useful media content too. Many well established players and guitar makers have taken to Stringjoy as their brand of choice which has certainly also helped their following.
The Signatures are their classic nickel wound string, many feature some slight variations on the more common string gauge choices. Refinements made from testing, developing and in speaking with players too via their custom order processes. They often refer to these gauges as 'balanced' sets, but I'll list each below so you can see which is right for you.
I stock the Signatures in a variety of gauges, here we have the 'Heavy Bottom Light' 10-52 set.
Here's what Stringjoy say about the set! -
"Ah, so you like a set of strings that packs a punch, do ya? You like to pick heavy on the bottom but still want to be able to bend up top? Well then, our Heavy Bottom 10s are just the strings for you.
This set addresses the two tension issues that arise in typical 10-52 sets: the 2nd string is too light, and the 5th string is too heavy. We fix the top end by subbing in a .0135 for the typical .013, bringing perfect balance to all the plain strings. Then on bottom, we drop the gauge of the 5th string to a .040 (from the typical .042) to pull everything evenly together down there.
These two tweaks give our Heavy Bottom 10s great balance on both the plain and wound strings, with extra tension on the bottom for heavier players—or just those who are after a thicker bottom end sound."
