Pre-Wired Guitar wiring harness | Jazzmaster 'Lead' Circuit kit | Right & Left Handed

Order times
I usually make harnesses to order, due to the variety of spec options that could be chosen across the whole range. The current turnaround time for a harness orders is around 5-7 working days depending on quantity of orders in at the time and your order will be updated accordingly when it is dispatched. This turnaround time doesn't include the transit time. Thanks for your patience whilst I get your harness made!

It's no secret that I love Jazzmasters. From the comfort of the offset body shape, to the intuitive trem and ultimately, the sound. So this harness was definitely driven by the passion I have for the Jazzmaster design.
This particular harness is for a lead circuit only 'conversion' so to speak. So this harness is wired as if the rhythm circuit didn't exist, and is a standalone lead circuit. So it is great for those who wish to remove the rhythm circuit from their guitar, perhaps building a JM partscaster and don't wish to fit a rhythm circuit, or perhaps are planning a build based around non JM single coils, with humbuckers instead perhaps. I offer it with a choice of traditional 1 Meg pots, or 500k pots depending on your preference or pickups you plan to use. and now also offer it with the choice of .022uF(great if it's a humbucker or P90 configuration) and the traditional JM lead circuit .033uF if you'd like to stick with the traditional spec and JM single coils.
I have also opted to wire it '50s' style, giving a better balance of volume and tone control and it also helps with treble frequencies being retained whilst rolling the volume down.
If you have any questions about specs, feel free to drop me a message, happy to help where possible!

Left handed choices
Not sure whether Left Handed/Reverse audio taper pots are 'right' for you? Check out this article I put together addressing the subject, and hopefully it will help you find the correct choice for your playing. HERE

I have intended for my wiring harnesses to be as simple as possible to install to your Jazzmaster, as well as writing in depth fitting guides, how-to instructions documenting the step by step process as well as a simple to follow wiring diagram.
The parts I use, in particular the pots, are CTS branded pots which are imperial measurements. If you're fitting this harness to a far east built variant for example such as a Squier or similar, then you may have to widen the holes in the control plate to accommodate for these imperial measurement pots. Or alternatively, purchase a new control plate that is already suited to the US spec components.
For reference, the CTS pots I use in this harness have a shaft diameter of 9.52mm.
You may also require new control knobs to fit the CTS pot 'split shaft' spline diameter of 5.95mm.
If you do require a US spec control plate or control knobs, we do carry a selection of popular options in stock and they can be viewed in the hardware & plastic hardware categories on the store.

The mounting board I ship my harnesses out on, were taken from measurements of a USA built Fender Jazzmaster. The centre to centre measurements between components are -
Centre of 3 way toggle switch to master volume pot - 11.5cm
Centre of master volume pot to master tone pot - 5.2cm
Centre of master tone pot to jack socket - 6cm

- CTS '450' Series +/-10% Tolerance short shaft pots - 500k split shaft
- CTS '450' Seires +/-10% Tolerance short shaft pots - 1 Meg split shaft
- For LH Taper kits - CTS Left Handed Audio taper 500k split shaft pots. (sadly I can't source LH audio taper 1 Meg pots so full LH option only available on 500k harness versions)
- .022uF 'Yellow Mustard' type tone capacitor  (If you'd prefer a different value capacitor, do please get in touch and I'd be more than happy to help, but as standard all of my kits come with .022uF value)
- Gavitt USA made cloth covered 22AWG wire
- 20AWG Tinned copper ground
- CRL 3 way spring loaded lever switch
- Pure Tone multi contact jack socket
- Soldered using Rapid 22SWG lead-free solder
