About Cort
Established for over 50 years producing their own branded instruments as well as on behalf of many major brands too (to this day names like PRS with their SE line, Fender, Ibanez, Squier and Schecter all ultilising the Cort factories for instrument production). Cort in 2025 are widely praised for their innovative designs and quality control.
About the G Series 250 SE
The Cort G250 SE is focussed for the value-conscious guitarist, but definitely packs some premium features that would lead many to believe it would cost a lot more than it does. A true workhorse bolt-on electric guitar with premium features that will appeal to everyone from experienced working musicians to novice players who do not want to compromise on quality and workmanship. Some great styling too, with a great offset double cutaway design which not only looks great, but aids comfort and playability too. I've been really impressed with this for numerous reasons; build quality, specs and features as well as it's styling. One of the best value guitars I've come across and very pleased to offer them here.
Basswood body with Roasted Maple neck and fretboard, the acoustic tone is clear and balanced with a strong and punchy midrange.
The new Voiced Tone VTH-59 bridge humbucker and VTS-63 single-coil pickups perfectly complement the big robust acoustic sound of the guitar with modern clarity, transparency and vintage warmth. Painstakingly developed by Cort’s engineers by drawing on decades of pickup winding experience, the Voiced Tone pickups feature the highest-grade components and winding techniques to allow the natural character of the guitar to be faithfully delivered to the amp.
The push-pull tone knob potentiometer allows for the humbucker’s dual coils to be split into single-coil (splits to the 'slug' coil for reference!) providing a brighter and glassier sound ideal for genres such as pop, funk and certain styles of jazz.
As with any guitar purchased through myself here at James' Home of Tone, I'll ensure playability is as good as can be out of the box (or via collection!) with my setup inspection as standard. I'll check and refine setup details such as string depths in the top nut slots, neck relief, intonation and pickup heights. Should you wish to have a different gauge string to what is installed on these from the factory, by all means let me know and I can help handle that in advance of collection/dispatch, and refine setup to suit for you. I take pride in what I do and the service I offer here, one benefit of buying from a smaller business like mine as opposed to higher volume box shifting retailers is the hands on service available to you and that's always what I strive to offer to you. Thank you for considering this cool G250 SE through myself!
