Description

Scooped Strat pickups have been a regular custom request for McNelly, particularly in the neck and middle positions. So they developed the Triple Scoop model, to suit those needs. Using the same parts as the Nostalgia set, the bobbins are modified and wound to accentuate more highs without sounding hollow. Yes, they nail the elusive 4th position smooth quack! I really love this Strat set, having wrapped my ears around so many strats over the years, the 2nd and 4th positions on this set are just to die for. Those scooped mid tones work so well across the set, very well balanced and the bridge pickup isn't just brash treble, it's useable and detailed. Very impressed indeed!

Recommended wiring
We recommend that the Triple Scoops are wired with 250k pots and a .022mfd cap for optimal results. But if you're looking for a warmer/sweeter tone, you could happily use either a .047mfd.

Installation
These pickups are a traditional Stratocaster single coil size/style. They are 2 conductor wired (black for ground, off-white for hot). If by chance you aren't comfortable installing these pickups yourself, and are local to the Home of Tone, then I offer professional in-house installation. If you are installing them yourself, then I am of course here for any installation advise too.

Cover Options
McNelly pickups are listed individually, so simply add the neck and/or bridge pickup in the cover option you wish, to the cart. The full range of cover options are visible via the drop down menu.

About McNelly

One of my first wishes about setting up my store was to concentrate on quality. McNelly couldn't fulfill that wish any better. I've worked with McNelly Pickups since 2015, and has been one of the most reliable, consistent, innovative and inspiring suppliers to work with and it's an honour to represent such a quality brand here in the UK.

Made by Tim McNelly and his team in Canada, every single pickup is created with the utmost passion for their craft. From the design process to refining tone detail, unique and timeless aesthetics to the finest build quality you'd hope to see.

Every detail is considered by Tim to ensure their pickups are the finest they possibly could be. From material and part selection, to care and workmanship during the winding and making process. The result is tone that speaks for itself.

What's included with the pickup?

Inside the box you'll find the pickup(s) you have ordered, along with your mounting screws/fixings.

Custom options?

If you love the look of this pickup model, but the standard options don't quite suit your requirements then we can certainly help with that.
As McNelly Pickups are primarily made to order, we can usually cater for custom requirements happily.
Need a humbucker with 4 conductor cable for custom switching? No problem
Need a wide spaced bridge pickup? No problem

If you have a custom, non standard request, please contact me prior to placing your order and we can chat about your requirements and see about making it happen for you - james@homeoftone.co.uk
