Copper Shielding Foil for control cavities - 8" x 12" sized self adhesive sheet

£5.95

About

This Copper shielding foil is supplied as a 12" long and 8" wide sheet and features simple self adhesive backing meaning it's really easy to work with. Rather importantly, this has conductive adhesive too so no need to solder between each piece to ensure continuity. Easily cut to required cavity/routing size with normal scissors and will stick straight onto the body and/or cavity and pickguard (as long as surface is free of dust etc!)

Ideal for lining the cavity of a guitar body and for the back of pickguards/scratchplates. I personally use this on my own guitars as well as customer guitars in the workshop regularly. If applying to the control cavities and back of pickguard, ensure there is a contact 'lip' over the control cavity edge to create a full ground with the pickguard shielding (there's a photo example on this listing displaying an effective application).

If you purchase more than one 12x8 length, I will cut in a continuous length providing stock levels allow. If you'd prefer it as individual 12x8 pieces though, just let me know via the order comments box or via e-mail and I'll happily accommodate where possible.

Fitting guide

THIS is an article I put together showing how I apply copper foil shielding to a guitar cavity and pickguard. I specifically shows the work being done to a '72 Telecaster Custom but the same methods apply for any guitar, well worth a look if you're looking for pointers on how to shield your guitar or bass effectively. But as a quick tip, it's good practice to ensure pieces overlap slightly, and you have a 'lip' over the top of the cavity where the pickguard will sit against. Arm yourself with a multi-meter to carry out a continuity test and that way you'll know if your application is going to do it's job.

Shipping notes

To try and reduce the risk of damage to the foil in transit for you, I ship it out rolled up, in a box (hence the 'small parcel' sized package price). However if you are fine with potential creases etc and would rather save a little more on postage, I can fold it and send it flat for you within the 'large letter' package price Just ping me a e-mail prior to ordering and I will manually organise that for you :)
