Ordering/made to order lead time
This particular McNelly pickup model is hand made to order in Canada. McNelly are currently working to a roughly 6-8 week wait time on made to order pickups. By placing an order through the website, I will handle this made to order process from there on out. I handle the order, importing from Canada for you and once they're here, I inspect and ship them out to you.
About the JM90
This set is based on McNelly’s standard P90s, but made to install under Jazzmaster covers. You'll have increased output and fatter tone than a typical JM, plus the lovely neck/bridge balance that the McNelly P90s are known for. The McNelly P90 Soapbar is one of the most popular models, used by guitar makers and individual players around the world. If you fancy some P90 sound instead in your JM, this is a fantastic place to do so.
Nerdy specs
Type - Passive
Wire type - 2 conductor
DCR neck - 7.15k
DCR bridge - 8.8k
Neck pickup magnet - Alnico 5
Bridge pickup magnet - Alnico 4
Recommended wiring - The JM90 Jazzmaster pickups are 'optimal' when paired with 500k pots and a 0.022uF tone capacitor.
Will they fit my guitar?
The JM90 pickup is traditional Jazzmaster single coil pickup sizing, as such, will fit any standard/traditional Jazzmaster model without modification.
Cover Options
McNelly pickups are listed individually, so simply add the neck and/or bridge pickup in the cover option you wish, to the cart.
The JM90 is available with selection of cover options, please see the drop down menu and photos for a run down.
What's included?
Inside the box you'll find the pickup(s) you have ordered, along with your mounting screws and height foams for each.
Installation
These pickups are a traditional Jazzmaster single coil size/style. They are traditional 2 conductor wire as standard (Gavitt 22awg braided style wire where the outer braiding is ground, central core is 'hot'). If by chance you aren't comfortable installing these pickups yourself, and are local to the Home of Tone, then I offer professional in-house installation. If you are installing them yourself, then I am of course here for any installation advise too.
