About Cort

Established for over 50 years producing their own branded instruments as well as on behalf of many major brands too (to this day names like PRS with their SE line, Fender, Ibanez, Squier and Schecter all ultilising the Cort factories for instrument production). Cort in 2025 are widely praised for their innovative designs and quality control with their own instruments, and those that they build for other notable brands.

About the Meta Series MBM-2P
The new META Series MBM-2 Signature Guitar is an evolution of the MBM-1 guitar, Manons' lower price point instrument that delivers a whole new playing and ownership experience for the Manson Guitar Works player.
These are produced under licence with Cort, and have now been further modified and developed to reflect more closely the body shape of the guitars that Matthew Bellamy plays on stage with MUSE, whilst adding a new options such as a P-90 neck pickup.

The body shape is freshly contoured and available here in the new, and very cool Starlight Silver matte finish. A new high output P-90 neck pickup offers a new neck voicing over the MBM-1's humbucker to more closely match the raw and powerful sounding bridge humbucker pickup. This configuration was design and inspired to reflect the sounds found on Bellamy’s earlier guitar tones during Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry.  A cool momentary kill-button allows stutter style effects, great for the creative player or to replicate some iconic riffs from rock history too.

Hardware is chrome finished and features staggered locking tuners for quick string changes and the elimination of requirement of a traditional string tree. This helps create a clean looking headstock design, but is also one less point of friction for the strings aiding stability.

The basswood body combines light weight (this specific guitar in stock weighing around 7.35lbs I'll add) with a neutral tonal balance. Very well suited to the pickup combination and gain tones. The bolt-on neck design features a hard maple construction with an Indian laurel fingerboard, something of which I think really suits the cool matte silver finish. The necks satin finish feels played in from day one and features a particularly flat 12" to 16" compound radius fingerboard for fast playing and bends, and the neck is a really cool full feeling soft V profile. A welcome unique spec detail in the sea of C profile neck options on the market.

My thoughts & the Home of Tone guitar promise
I'm personally really impressed with these. They have the unique spec and styling that synominous with Matt Bellamy, the neck feels fantastic with that nice soft V profile paired with the flatter compound radius for ease of playbility. Tones are surprisingly varied, thanks to the P90/HB pickup combination that handles clean sounds, light gain or high gain with ease, the bridge HB in particular soaring with some high gain I must say. A very cool way of obtaining a Bellamy signature guitar for an affordable price point.

As with any guitar purchased through myself here at James' Home of Tone, I'll ensure playability is as good as can be out of the box (or via collection!) with my setup inspection as standard. I'll check and refine setup details such as string depths in the top nut slots, neck relief, intonation and pickup heights. Should you wish to have a different gauge string to what is installed on these from the factory, by all means let me know and I can help handle that in advance of collection/dispatch, and refine setup to suit for you. I take pride in what I do and the service I offer here, one benefit of buying from a smaller business like mine as opposed to higher volume box shifting retailers is the hands on service available to you and that's always what I strive to offer to you. Thank you for considering this cool MBM-2P through myself!
