I was contacted by Gus to help convert his son's Squier Classic Vibe Jaguar into a Kurt Cobain style humbucker equipped Jag. The customer already had the lead circuit control plates with the currect KC Jag specs, so it was just a matter of re-wiring it to suit, as well as route the body and pickguard to accomodate the DiMarzio PAF and Super Distortion humbuckers.
It was opted to stick with the existing bridge for now, rather than replace it with the Gotoh tune-o-matic, so priority on this booking was for the wiring and pickup conversion, so time for me to get stuck into that!
With the routing work done, I needed to give it more of a factory finish, by applying a couple of coats of shielding paint. You'll notice I needed to widen the lead circuit pots section route too, to help accomodate for the new 3 pot lead circuit plate layout.
With the woodwork side of things finished, I now needed to make the new wiring harness, and prep for the final assembly.
This particular Jag harness isn't one I sell on the website as a retrofit kit, it is only one I make on in-house, booked in jobs like this. But thought it was worth featuring as I think it turned out great!
