About the McNelly 50s style P-Bass pickup
The electric bass that transformed how the bass was seen and heard, the first iteration of the P-Bass! The original early 50s 'Tele' P-Bass featured a traditional single coil pickup, and this is McNelly's version, both inspired by the vintage examples and in true McNelly fashion, a little extra modern production flair thrown in too. A5 magnets with raised D and G poles. These have great definition and thump.
Will it fit my Bass?
This early 50s style P-bass pickup is designed and made to match the traditional early 50s 'Tele' P-Bass size and mount. It is intended for traditional mounting via screws into the body, and adjustment via sponges underneath the pickup(s). The early 50s single coil pickup is a unique pickup size, so keep that in mind if you are retrofitting it to another style of bass.
What's included?
Inside the box you'll find the pickup you have ordered along with your mounting screws and height adjustment sponges.
Installation
This pickup is traditional 2 wire as standard (Gavitt cloth 22awg wire, usually off-white for hot and black for ground). If by chance you aren't comfortable installing these pickups yourself, and are local to the Home of Tone, then I offer professional in-house installation. If you are installing them yourself, then I am of course here for any installation advise too.
Wiring to match?
If you're considering replacing your wiring alongside this set of pickups, then don't forget that I also offer my 'Signature Series' range of pre-wired kits, which include 50s Tele bass style P-Bass options, from true to vintage and more modern alternatives. You can check out the bass kits available HERE
