About
The Voyager features a well balanced solid body, offset design that is made from premium hand selected tone woods with light action and smooth playability. The design captures the traditions of Californian electric guitar as well as pushing it further with modern revisions and Chad's incredible workmanship and attention to detail.
This is one I simply couldn't resist as I don't recall seeing Chad make this spec combination before. He made two of these, so in the US lives it's twin, but this one is coming to the UK to live!
It features some signature Jennings details like the lightweight roasted swamp ash body and deep open grain satin finish, matching headstock in a STUNNING Firemist Gold colour which with the satin works so well. It also has the signature Jennings ‘hollow circle’ fingerboard inlays. It has a lovely brown tort 3 ply pickguard and a hardtail tune-o-matic and stopbar bridge setup, so thanks to the 19:1 'Revolution' Kluson tuners at the top, make for a super stable guitar. This particular stock build features some McNelly 'Chaplain' humbuckers in both the neck and bridge position. The Chaplain is a really cool humbucker design from McNelly, and quite unique. McNelly revisted the early days of the PAF during this pickups design, and wondered 'what if' instead of the P90 inspiring the humbucker pickup, it was instead the Charlie Christian pickup that inspired it. The result was superb, and these have proved to be a very popular design for McNelly, as it's a humbucker for people that don't usually like humbuckers! Exceptional clarity, with very clear basses. Let's not forget the gorgeous heavily flamed roasted maple neck too!
A familiar 25.5” scale length, super comfortable offset body with arm and tummy carves and Chad’s amazing signature neck profile/shape results in a stunning instrument, as with all of Chad’s builds.
