About

My Signature Series Pre-Wired Jack Socket is ideal for a quick and easy replacement on your Fender style instruments like a Strat or a Tele for example. But it could be suitable for a range of other guitar styles and types too, if you want/need to double check compatability just get in touch with me along with some details about your guitar and I'll do my best confirm suitability for you.

The Pre-Wired, 'Pure Tone' multi contact Jack comes with black & off-white 1ft lengths of Gavitt USA 22AWG cloth covered wire pre-soldered onto the jack socket connections.

The Pure Tone jack features 4 contact points, two positive, two ground which firmly hold the cable in place even after heavy use. You'll notice right from first use how much firmer the jack seats the plug, and that these are a big improvement of the traditional single contact point jack sockets. I've been exclusively using Pure Tone jacks in my Signature Series pre-wired harnesses since 2016 and they've proved to be very reliable and popular.

Why pre-wired? Ultimately it helps keep the work a little simpler at your end, but it might also be useful if you want/need to replace the wire run from the switch/volume pot to the jack too.

- Soldered using R-Tech Premium Lead-Free (Sn95.5Ag3.9Cu0.6) 22swg Solder wire. The solder wire, jack socket and Gavitt wire are each RoHS Compliant.

Options

Available in a nickel, black nickel or gold.

Fitting

The Pure Tone jack features imperial thread pitch (in case you need to fit this to the electrosocket style threaded mount), the outer diameter measures 0.367" / 9.32mm and ideally requires a 0.394" / 10mm hole to comfortably mount if mounting to a plate or jack cup.

Precise install method will vary depending on what model of guitar you plan on installing this pre-wired jack to. For example, on a Telecaster or a Stratocaster you will likely be soldering this directly to the volume control pot, but on another style of guitar it may be going to the selector switch. Best course of action is to reference a wiring diagram relevant to your guitar model. Follow the signal/hot wire and ground wire path from the jack and see where they are soldered to, or upon working on your guitar, inspect how it is currently connected, perhaps take some reference photos and continue with the swap/install. I may well have a wiring diagram releveant to your guitar model and specs on my website, nested within the main menu/banner on the website you will see a tab named 'Wiring Diagrams & Info' and there you'll find a wide selection of reference guides and wiring diagrams which may well help too.

I use traditional off-white and black wire on these pre-wired jacks, the black wire is the ground wire and is soldered to the sleeve/ground lug of the jack. The off-white wire is the signal/'hot' wire and is soldered to the tip lug of the jack.
