Pre-Wired Guitar wiring harness | 5-way Stratocaster 'Modern' kit | Left handed w/LH taper pots

£69.99 £62.99

I have spent my guitar playing life around Stratocasters. I first become interested in them at the age of 5, seeing the likes of Hendrix, Clapton, SRV and Gilmour playing them on concert VHS tapes that my parents would put on whilst growing up. Although I was young, I soon noticed that all these people were playing the same type of guitar, and that really caught my eye. On my 6th birthday I asked for a guitar, and was incredibly lucky enough to have received a Squier Strat, and the Strat in general was pretty much all I played right up until my 30s. So needless to say, the Strat harness range is close to my heart and something I wanted to ensure is the best quality product I could offer to help bring out the best in your Strat too.
This is the 'modern' harness which I call modern simply as it is a revision over the vintage style strat wiring where the bridge pickup has no tone control. Instead, on this harness you have Tone 1 controlling the tone for the Neck & Middle pickup, and Tone 2 controlling the tone for the bridge pickup.

Left handed choices
Not sure whether Left Handed/Reverse audio taper pots are 'right' for you? Check out this article I put together addressing the subject, and hopefully it will help you find the correct choice for your playing. HERE

I have intended for my wiring harnesses to be as simple as possible to install to your Stratocaster, as well as writing in depth fitting guides, how-to instructions documenting the step by step process and simple to follow wiring diagrams to accompany the kits.

If you’re buying this kit for a USA made Strat, then chances are it will be a direct, no modifications required install process for you. But if you are buying this kit for a far east built variant Strat then you may need to make some small alterations to your guitar to ensure correct fitment. What these alterations will be may vary depending on the specifications of your instrument currently.
The parts I use, in particular the pots, are CTS branded pots which are imperial measurements. If you're fitting this harness to a far east built variant for example such as a Squier or similar, then you may have to widen the holes in the pickguard to accommodate for these imperial measurement pots. Or alternatively, purchase a new pickguard that is already suited to the US spec components.
For reference, the CTS pots I use in this harness have a mounting thread shaft diameter of 9.52mm.
You may also require new control knobs to fit the CTS pot 'split shaft' spline diameter of 5.95mm, with 24 aplines.
If you do require a US spec control knobs, we do carry a selection of popular options in stock and they can be viewed in the hardware & plastic hardware categories on the store.

Centre to centre measurements between components are -
Centre of Switch to volume pot - 48mm
Centre of volume pot to centre of tone pot 1 - 45mm
Centre of tone pot 1 to tone pot 2 - 45mm
These measurements for my mounting boards/templates were taken from a USA Fender Stratocaster pickguard. Yours may vary from these measurements. If it is a minimal difference, then don’t worry. I allow for some ‘wiggle’ room in the wire lengths between components to help the product fit a wide variety of models. If the measurements are drastically different to these, then please get in touch with your centre to centre measurements and I will adjust to suit your instrument more closely.
