If you have a Strat style guitar that isn't a Fender, I can happily make a harness to suit your guitar. So please feel free to get in touch, and we will compare measurements to ensure it's suitability.

About Pre-Wired Harnesses
I wrote an extensive article about replacing your guitar's wiring harness, answering the main questions about each component and the potential differences and improvements that can be had in doing so. To read the full article, click Here!

About the 'Signature Series'
After a number of years of making my harnesses, from offering a range of options and further developing the product, it has lead me to this natural road. My Signature Series. This is my personal choice of premium components as the highest grade replacement guitar electronics.
The series features my new USA made paper in oil capacitors and Pure Tone multi contact jacks as standard. Along with the brilliant CTS 'TVT' series +/-5% tolerance pots (on RH taper harnesses), 22awg wire with modern insulation and a lacquered cotton braid finish and a CRL spring loaded lever switch.

Fitting
If you're upgrading from perhaps standard import or Japanese built guitars which have metric sized pots, you may need to widen the holes in your pickguard etc to accommodate the slight larger US made quality pots we use. If you are fitting this harness to a USA built Stratocaster, there is a good chance it already has imperial, US spec components meaning this will be a direct fit.
All harnesses come with fitting notes and a wiring diagram, but I have also written a fitting step-by-step guide for Strats which can be read here on the blog!

About the Strat Wiring
The wiring schematic we use for our Strat wiring harness ultilises the below controls and positions. It makes sense to have the bridge pickup attached to a tone pot, no brainer!

Master Volume
Tone 1 - Neck and Middle
Tone 2 - Bridge

Position 1 - Bridge
Position 2 - Middle and Bridge Parallel
Position 3 - Middle
Position 4 - Neck and Middle Parallel
Position5 - Neck

Which Capacitor Value will I need?
As a rule the general recommendation is .022uF for humbuckers, .047uF for single coils. This is usually based off the pickup manufacturers recommendations, but you can of course use whichever you choose for the given application. I personally prefer .022uF for both single coil and humbuckers for example, the reason being that a .022uF will 'roll off' less treble than a .047uF, making the pot 'sweep' sound a touch more gradual. A .047uF will be an ever so slightly 'steeper' roll off of trebles. It's personal preference, but first port of call would be to check out your pickup manufacturers recommendation and go from there. For reference, all McNelly Pickups are recommended to pair with .022uF capacitors. Hope this helps!

With or without Treble Bleed?
First up, what does it do? A Treble Bleed kit takes the 'high' treble tone frequencies out of the circuit at the volume pot, and puts them back in the circuit as the signal leaves the volume pot. This means the treble frequencies are prevented from naturally bleeding out of the circuit as your turn your volume pot down. The result is a smoothed out treble and a more uniform tone from 1 to 10. Reducing the treble drop out as the volume pot rolls off. Some guitar players wouldn't be without a treble bleed, and many have never used one on their guitars. Truth is, it is very much personal preference. I personally don't use a treble bleed mod on any of my guitars, and this is just due to the way I play. If you like the idea of retaining treble as you roll your volume pot down, then a treble bleed is for you!

Righty or Southpaw, the choice is there to suit however your play!
Alongside the usual right handed replacement wiring harnessesI also make these in left handed orientation. After a lot of research and customer orders over the years it seems 99.9% of Lefty players are used to using guitars with traditional RH taper pots. This is mainly because many guitar manufacturers simply fitted RH taper pots in LH taper guitars. But some LH players do of course prefer using LH taper pots, whatever your preference as a Left handed Strat player, I offer the spec to suit.

What comes with my harness?
You'll be supplied with your completed, made to order wiring harness. But as of Jan 2019, in an effort to reduce the amount of paper/packaging used in every harness order heading out the door and make things a little more environmentally friendly as a result, I have made my harness fitting guide as well as all relevant wiring diagrams available on my website. These can be viewed HERE. The harness also comes mounted on an MDF template, which might be handy for future use too!
