Signature Series Pre-Wired Stratocaster 'Blender' harness kit
I usually make harnesses to order, due to the various options that could be chosen. The waiting time for harness orders is around 3-5 working days depending on quantity of orders in at the time. About Pre-Wired Harnesses
After introducing harnesses to my line-up back in 2015, listening to customer feedback, undertaking my own testing & taking on board customer requests over that time, I've come to find my favourite specs & components to use. I decided to name these my 'Signature Series', which I suppose is just a fancy way of saying I trust these components in providing you & your guitar a solid replacement and/or upgrade.

The series features a UK made +/-3% tolerance .022uF polypropylene film capacitor and Pure Tone multi contact jacks as standard. Along with the brilliant CTS 'TVT' series +/-5% tolerance pots, Gavitt 22AWG wire and a CRL spring loaded lever switch.
If you're fitting this harness to perhaps a copy, standard import or Japanese built Stratocaster guitar for example which often have metric sized shaft pots originally, you may need to widen the holes in your pickguard etc to accommodate the slightly larger imperial US made quality pots we use. If you are fitting this harness to a USA built Stratocaster, there is a good chance it already has imperial, US spec components meaning this will be a direct fit. CTS 'TVT' pots I use in this harness have a shaft diameter of 9.5mm.
You may also require new control knobs to fit the CTS pot 'spline' diameter of 5.95mm.

Centre to centre measurements between components are -
Centre of Switch to volume pot - 48mm
Centre of volume pot to centre of tone pot 1 - 45mm
Centre of tone pot 1 to tone pot 2 - 45mm

About the Strat Blend Wiring
The wiring schematic we use for our Strat Blend wiring harness ultilises the below controls and positions. This wiring mod has been popular and requested a few times now, meaning it make sense to make it part of the standard range here. It opens up the tonal ranges available from a strat, well worth considering!
Tone 1 - Master Tone
Tone 2 - Blend
Position 1 - Bridge (Can add neck pickup with blend pot)
Position 2 - Middle and Bridge Parallel (Can add neck pickup with blend pot)
Position 3 - Middle
Position 4 - Neck and Middle Parallel (Can add bridge pickup with blend pot)
Position5 - Neck (Can add bridge pickup with blend pot)
Blend control turned fully clockwise, no blend. So in this position it's acting like a conventional strat, albeit with a master tone instead of 2 tone controls.
Blend control turned fully counterclockwise, full blend. Where the fun begins!
- CTS 'TVT' Series +/-5% Tolerance shortshaft pots - 250k, split shaft pots as standard on Strat kits.

- UK made +/-3% tolerance .022uF polypropylene film capacitor

- For treble bleed option, I will use my Home of Tone Treble Bleed kit
With or without Treble Bleed?
First up, what does it do? A Treble Bleed kit takes the 'high' treble tone frequencies out of the circuit at the volume pot, and puts them back in the circuit as the signal leaves the volume pot. This means the treble frequencies are prevented from naturally bleeding out of the circuit as your turn your volume pot down. The result is a smoothed out treble and a more uniform tone from 1 to 10. Reducing the treble drop out as the volume pot rolls off. Some guitar players wouldn't be without a treble bleed, and many have never used one on their guitars. Truth is, it is very much personal preference. I personally don't use a treble bleed mod on any of my guitars, and this is just due to the way I play. If you like the idea of retaining treble as you roll your volume pot down, then a treble bleed is for you!
My harnesses now only come with the option of .022uF rating tone capacitor. Why? Well first of all very often the choice of value was confusing for some customers, as ultimately it is personal preference. But after chatting to them to help decide which, 99.9% of the time .022uF was the final choice. This has become pretty much the only value cap I was using day to day on orders as .022uF offers a more subtle, gradual roll off of treble frequencies compared to a .047uF creating a more 'usable' control of the tone pot. I personally use .022uF in my own guitars, and it is also the recommended value to pair with McNelly Pickup applications too, so this decision along with being the most popular customer choice became a no brainer!
I am currently using a very high quality audio grade UK made polypropylene film capacitor. These are incredibly solid construction, offering reliability which for me is key to a long lasting item in your guitar, as well as a super tight +/-3% tolerance on the value. Why is that important? Well ultimately it is the value which will tell you most about how the cap will 'sound' or respond, the more accurate the tolerance the more reliable the response in use.
