#MGS3Build - The official start
Today was an exciting day for the MGS3Build, with it now more officially commencing! Florian sent through an absolute flurry of updates to me today (if you follow on Instagram I apologise for the build spam!) which saw some great progress on initial routing and the early stages of cleaning up the shape and cavities.

MGS3Build

To kick things off, yesterday the body blanks were planed/jointed then glued up for clamping before the fun begins.

The power tools came out to play shortly after, with the rough outline of the body shape coming first.

Can't tell you just how cool it feels to see the outline of my very own Millimetric for the first time like this! Super exciting, beautiful piece of Walnut too I might add!

Table top router takes care of the final shaping with the template, refining the lines and bringing in the contours.

My build is being done alongside a fellow MM customer who is also going for an MGS3 model but with a maple body in a natural finish by the looks of the order form sat next to mine in the title image. Really excited to see that, feels like it's been a while since seeing a natural finish MM build. Nice to see glimpses of my guitar's twin. For this update you can see the material bulk being removed by the drill press, which will make the router's life easier in the following stages.

Neck pocket look super cleannnnn!

Along with the control cavity! One detail I really like about Florian's design is the visible control cavity, and when making that a part of the design it's great to see it so well thought out with the partition between where each component will sit.

& to round out today's update, pickup routes on the front also done! All of Florian's pickup designs will fit the same route, so although they're not necessarily modular so to speak, in theory if you do want to mix up the sounds in the future with another set of pickups from him, there's no worry of re-routing. Just a new set of pickups and possibly new pickguard depending on the pickup choice and you'd be good to go! This is something I particularly found helpful to know, as although I'm pretty firm about my MMGF (Gold foil) set choice, it's nice to know if I wanted to drop his Z-coils or humbuckers in the future, it's do-able without worrying about chopping the guitar up!

Seriously exciting day for me, seeing the body begin to take shape so well. Huge thanks to Florian for the great stream of updates through the day! Had to rush on here to share them as soon as I could. Crazy to think it's my turn, a year's wait really didn't feel long and has come around super fast.

In the mean time, if you want to come and get your hands on a Millimetric Instrument, perhaps see why I was so quick to sell a long time owned guitar in exchange for one of these creations! Then we have a MGS2 model here for demo! Get in touch and we'll organise a viewing for you!
