#MGS3Build - Complete!
Seeing the colour come to life on my previous #MGS3Build update certainly made the build feel real, but not only that, I knew it wouldn't be long at all before I saw it all in one piece. The photo I shared on that previous article wasn't the best representation of the true colour, apologies there, but hopefully these images will give you a better idea of the colour and thoughts behind choosing it.

We left off from the last update with the neck being oxidised, prior to fretting. Sadly I don't have any photos of the neck whilst being fretted, only video clips so seeing as we're at the tail end of the build now I have decided to compile all of the video clips Florian sent and tagged me in through the build into one quick video which I'll share at the end of this post! I will add that I went with Florian's standard fretwire, Jescar Stainless Steel FW47100, I've gotten so used to it on the demo MGS2 that I'm confident it's the right choice for my own guitar.

Next up was the wiring work, again mostly videos to this but I do have a photo from the work carried out and as you can see, it is a traditional master volume, master tone, three way toggle switch(not shown on photo) and jack layout. The copper bus ground is rather fitting for the copper coloured body too! Cool to see Florian ultilising his guitar routing template as a mounting board for pre-wiring.

The bridge was then painted and assembled. These are stainless steel saddles and a stainless steel baseplate which are then painted black and designed in house by Florian. It's a hardtail design, he is developing a trem version but I personally opted for a hardtail for this guitar. In those individual saddles sit the string guides which are made from brass.

Possibly the most exciting time arrived, final assembly! First the electronics were mounted and installed along with the 'copper' foil pickups. You can see again here the black painted cavity, and brass ferrules for the cavity cover screws to thread into, so no wood screws straight into the body on these builds which is becoming more common to see across a variety of electric guitar luthiers now.

With the protective cover off and guitar flipped over, we see first glimpses of how it will look completed! Pickguard on, pickups in a wiring mounted up. Absolutely in love with the copper against black already.

Bridge baseplate on along with wiring hardware, the in house made acrylic control knobs and switch tips.

Bridge assembled and you can also see a glimpse that the neck is also mounted too! The first real time seeing it all in one piece. Can't feel much more real than that!

And there we have it! Strings on, looking handsome and poised to be played. Florian will allow it to sit, and complete the set-up including final shaping of the graphtech nut.

There we have it, my MGS3 complete and I'm still quite overwhelmed to see it come to life after lusting after one for so long. Waiting a year for a guitar might seem impossible to fathom for some, but after playing the guitars Florian had built at the Holy Grail show, I knew I was more than content in waiting to have my very own. He's done an incredible job on bringing our idea to life, I'll share again the little computer illustration of the guitar to show just how accurate that was too! And below you'll see the final build photos Florian has taken whilst it settles prior to shipping. It'll be heading over very soon, safely inside it's Nanuk flightcase and hopefully I'll record the box opening again like I did for the demo model MGS2. Anyway, that's all for now and looking forward to the update to say it's arrived with me!

Here is a quick video edit I put together of the various Instagram Stories Florian shared through the build, seemed a shame not to screen grab all of these!
